FFLA prepared a review and update of the Northern Regional Trails Strategy, originally prepared in 2016. The strategy covers six municipalities in the northern region of Melbourne (Banyule, Darebin, Hume, Merri-bek, Nillumbik and Whittlesea). Twenty seven existing and potential regional trails were identified in the study area. Each of these was assessed (including all of the existing trails being assessed by bicycle) and mapped.
A multi-criteria analysis of potential improvement projects was undertaken, resulting in an action plan that prioritises actions required to achieve an interconnected and well-used shared trail network. The project also included the preparation of a Cost Benefit Analysis prepared by SGS Economics & Planning.
