castlemaine - maryborough rail trail feasibility study

FFLA lead a team including economics, tourism and engineering specialists to prepare a feasibility study for a rail trail between Castlemaine and Maryborough in central Victoria. The project involved close collabortation and liaison with a range of important stakeholders, including the Castlemaine Maryborough Rail Trail community group, two local government authorities (Mount Alexander and Central Goldfields Shires), Victrack, and the broader community. The feasibility study was also informed by site investigations of the entire 60 kilometre route, including inspection of the condition of all stuctures and infrastructure (bridges, drainage culverts, road crossings, etc).
