FFLA lead a team that designed and documented upgrades to Beaumaris Concourse, a busy commercial area within the City of Bayside. Paving and furniture around the site was upgraded to address functional issues. The design also sought to capture the character of the area and the imagination of the local residents, so that the place continues to thrive. Existing red brick paving has been long assocaited with the centre, but was required to be removed due it's deteriorating condition.The design created a visual link to the removed red brick paving by using crushed salvaged bricks in feature concrete seating elements. The design also references the mid-century modern design that the area is famous for and the mid-century origins of the centre itself.
