Browns Reserve is a local park in Abbotsford. FFLA worked with Yarra City Council to design and document an upgrade to the park, addressing concerns that the space was uninviting and under-used. The upgrade works sought to add colour and interest to the space, giving it character and a stronger sense of identity. The functional works included providing new seating, access paths and improving the setting of the existing retained play ground. The design incorporated the salvage and re-use of paving bricks on the site that were supplemented by colourful glazed bricks. The design also included the addition of pre-cast concrete spheres, as a cost-effective way to introduce sculptural interest.
